AmE | We rented an apartment. |
| hire | краткосрочная аренда вещей в BrE; нанять человека | We hired a car for the weekend. |
| lease | аренда по договору на согласованный срок | The company leased an office. |

| машина на неделю | hire a car | rent a car |
| машина как существительное | a hire car | a rental car |
| квартира | rent a flat | rent an apartment |
| нанять сотрудника | hire an employee | hire an employee |
